Exploring NIKKOR Lenses: Vagamon with the Nikon 35mm

This image holds great significance for me, as all photographers share the dream of capturing the unseen and extraordinary. Armed with a Nikon 35mm prime lens and a Nikon D3200 camera body, I’ve refrained from upgrading my gear for an extended period, allowing me to explore its full potential.

During a photography expedition to Vagamon with Photomuse, an enthusiast group, I encountered a pivotal moment. Despite my initial confidence, I struggled to encompass the scene in a single frame. Seeking a solution, I turned to my colleagues and Rajeev Mannayam graciously lent me his unused Samyang 14mm manual lens. Although unfamiliar with manual lenses, I navigated through initial warnings on the DSLR and delved into capturing images of the expansive landscape.

The outcome was breathtaking: the sun’s descent behind the mountains as swift-moving clouds added drama to the composition. Returning home and reviewing the image on my laptop, I was pleasantly surprised by the result. This achievement wouldn’t have been possible without Rajeev’s support.
