Best Photography Spots in Valparai
Tea Plantations at Sunrise – Perfect for golden-hour shots with mist rolling over the green slopes.
Aliyar Dam Viewpoint – A wide-angle dream for landscape photographers.
Sholayar Dam – A serene spot for reflections and long-exposure photography.
Valparai Waterfalls (Nallamudi, Chinnakallar, Monkey Falls) – Ideal for slow-shutter shots and cinematic videos.

- Coimbatore -> Pollachi → Azhiyar Dam → Valparai
- Distance: ~110 km (3.5 – 4 hours)
- This classic route takes you through Pollachi, with stops like Azhiyar Dam and Monkey Falls. The highlight? The legendary 40 hairpin bends that open up to sweeping valley views.
From Kerala
- Chalakudy → Athirappilly → Sholayar → Valparai
- Distance: ~105 km (3.5 – 4 hours)
- Probably the most scenic entry to Valparai, this route passes Athirappilly & Vazhachal waterfalls, thick forest corridors, and the tranquil Sholayar Dam before opening up to Valparai’s tea valleys.
